| A visual and musical tour de
force, "The King and I" has mesmerized live theater and silver screen
audiences for decades. It tells the true (albeit inaccurate) story of an
Englishwoman, Anna Leonowens, who comes to Siam to teach the ambitious
King's children. Though she soon finds herself at odds with the stubborn
monarch, over time, Anna and the King stop trying to change each other and
begin to understand one another. It is a beautiful story of two
strong-willed, well-intentioned souls and how they overcome cultural
barriers for the good of all. "The King and I" boasts some of theater's all-time best-loved songs, including "Getting To Know You," "I Whistle a Happy Tune," "We Kiss In A Shadow," "Something Wonderful", "Hello, Young Lovers" and "Shall We Dance?"
